This Isn't Goodbye | Hello 2016

I don't do well at goodbyes, but I had to say goodbye to the job I had a love-hate relationship with for 3 years this week. I didn't take it very well. Honestly, I loved it there. I made so many great friends, I honestly couldn't ask for better colleagues. I'm so grateful to have met such a great bunch of people, and I'm certainly going to miss them terribly.

Would I like my new place? Would I last? I'm so afraid of what my new job will bring, but I'm pretty excited at the same time. So here's to the future, the great unknown. But they were the best, how would anyone else ever compare?



On the other hand, I know that this year will bring tons of new adventures - a new job, new colleagues, new friends. A new Degree(gasps)! I'm not sure where life will take me to this time, but I'm ready for a change. I need a change.

I'm someone who prefers staying put in her comfort zone, because, who doesn't? Don't we all feel more assured and safe staying somewhere in life that you're familiar and happy with? I do. With change, there are so many uncertainties. Uncertainties honestly scare the hell out of me, but what is living if we don't jump into an adventure every once in a while?

It's like what Aladdin said to Jasmine before he took her on the magic carpet ride -

ALADDIN: You should be free to make
your own choice. I'll go now. 

JASMINE: No! 

ALADDIN: What? What? 

JASMINE: How--how are you doing that? 

ALADDIN: It's a magic carpet. 

JASMINE: I-It's lovely 

ALADDIN: You, uh, you don't want to
go for a ride, do you? We could get
out of the palace, see the world. 

JASMINE: Is it safe? 

ALADDIN: Sure. Do you trust me? 

JASMINE: What? 

ALADDIN: Do you trust me? 

JASMINE: Yes.

And just as life is asking me if I'm ready for a whole new adventure,
YES.
